Swami Nikhilananda is the acharya (teacher) of Chinmaya Mission Margao, Goa. Born in Mumbai, he grew up strongly influenced by the lives and teachings of many saints. It was whilst studying for a Masters degree in geology, that he developed an interest in spirituality. Thereafter, he studied Vedanta in Sandeepany Sadhanalaya Chinmaya Mission.
Swami Nikhilananda has served in Chinmaya Mission centers in India and USA. He spends his time in guiding spiritual seekers, teaching, participating in conferences and overseeing the mission activities. He conducts regular discourses, study groups, workshops, seminars and retreats around the country. He is a regular participant at inter-faith panel discussions and has frequently appeared in various TV channels. He was invited by the World Economic Forum at Davos in January 2011 and the India Economic Summit at Mumbai, later the same year. (full bio)
